 The "monkey musk" loves damp spots and will do in well in shade or sun. Although mostly grown from seed as an annual, many plants will survive the winter in milder parts of the country to flower again the following year.
There is a choice of flower colours and heights from the bold brash colours of Mimulus Sherry Trifle to the subtler Magic Pastel Mix and then there's the spectacular Mimulus maximus with it's huge 6cm (2.5in) flowers that are almost orchid-like in their outstanding beauty and striking colours.
A must for the container, hanging basket or border, they look particularly good tumbling over the edge of a low wall, where the flowers can be seen to full effect. |
