We take great care to minimise the impact that our business has on the environment. Every year we set ourselves ambitious targets to reduce energy consumption, the use of chemicals and packaging, and recycle as many materials as possible.
| • | We currently collect and send all our cardboard and paper for recycling. |
| • | Waste compost and plants are taken to a nearby green waste recycling centre for composting. This is combined with cow manure to make soil conditioner and potting compost, mainly for use by amateur gardeners. Every year we recycle over 80 tonnes of green waste. |
| • | Rainwater is collected from our greenhouse roofs and stored in our own reservoirs. This collected water fulfills over 90% of all our water usage. |
| • | Polystyrene and plastic trays used to grow seedlings and young plants are either cleaned and reused or sent for recycling. |
