Growing cut flowers yourself is highly rewarding and can provide an inexpensive way of filling your home with colour and fragrance.
There are many plants that make great cut flowers. These can be grown along with your other bedding plants, or you can designate a specific area of your garden for growing them. Particular favourites include
Dahlia Black Cat,
Dianthus barbatus,
scented Sweet Peas, and
Echinacea Prairie Splendour. Make sure you pick your flowers regularly to help encourage more blooms and prevent the plants from setting seed.
