Autumn colour can be created with foliage as well as flowers and there is a surprisingly good choice of plants. You can select plants such as Ajuga (Bugle), Hedera (Ivy), Heuchera, Lamium, Lysimachia, Ornamental cabbage, Salvia, variegated Thyme and of course ornamental grasses.
Autumn foliage plants work really well when planted with autumn flowers such as
Cyclamen,
pansy and
Viola.
